Introducing Project Green: 1 Scheduled Photoshoot = 1 Planted Tree!

As a photographer, I am constantly outside in nature. I frequent state parks, use way too much bug spray, and romp around in deep forests. I also have a degree in environmental policy, so nature is very near and dear to my heart.

But nature is under attack. Wildfires are raging along the West Coast, hurricanes are forming in the Gulf of Mexico, and thousands of trees are chopped down per minute to make way for farming and urbanization.

It’s hard to, quite literally, sit and watch the world burn. As a member of Generation Z, climate change has always been at the forefront of my mind. We’ve been warned about the disastrous consequences for years, and we are now seeing the beginning of catastrophic environmental destruction.

It’s easy to become overwhelmed by climate change and environmental degradation, but I needed to do something about it. That’s why I am introducing my new program, Project Green. For every photoshoot someone books with Emily McLaughlin Photography, 1 tree will be planted through the organization One Tree Planted. So far this year, we’ve planted 240 trees!

Trees are currently being planted in California, Brazil, and dozens of other countries. I’m so excited to bring this program to my business and make a tiny impact on this big world. Giving back to the earth, who gives so much to me, makes me feel hopeful. Change starts on an individual level, and we all have the power to make a difference in our own communities. ❤️
